Swedish heating technology provider Kanthal produced a documentary short film that shows how electric resistance materials and heating solutions have helped shape modern society.

Astec Industries Inc. is launching a rebranding initiative, which includes a new logo and website, to coincide with its business model. The organization’s former brands, including Heatec, will no longer operate as separate subsidiary companies and will all take on the Astec name.

Commonly referred to as an inline heater, circulation heaters provide a clean and efficient means to heat flowing gases or liquids. They consist of an assembly of heating elements, pressure vessel (tank), terminal housing, mounting hardware, insulation and inlet/outlet connections. 

Electrification of industrial processes is one of the key pillars for addressing climate change concerns. Many industries use gas-fired heaters, but Watlow is seeing a gradual shift to large electric heat exchangers.

Compatible with heating flammable liquids and gases, Cast-X High Temp can safely heat solvents, isopropyl alcohol, disinfecting agents, acetone, pentane, ammonia and other low flashpoint liquids to 1110°F (600°C). 

Solutions for electrically heated steam cracker furnaces are the focus of a joint development agreement inked by BASF, SABIC and Linde. The partners have already collaborated on concepts related to using renewable electricity rather than the fossil fuel gas typically used for the heating process.

Heatec shipped a portable AC tank to a company in Sweden. Electric heating coils were used in this tank instead of the hot oil coils typically found on portable heated tanks.
