Registration is now open for IHEA’s Fundamentals of Industrial Process Heating Online Learning Course, which begins October 7. Students will learn the basics of heat transfer, fuels and combustion, energy use, furnace design, refractories, automatic control and atmospheres as applied to industrial process heating.
Rockford Systems LLC expanded its industrial safety solution portfolio into the fuel and thermal safety fields by launching a Combustion Safety division. The newly formed division will provide turnkey solutions for organizations that use thermal processes in their operations.
Superior Boiler LLC, Richmond, Va., promoted Ryan Poznanczyk to sales manager. He will lead sales, marketing and business development activities for the company’s industrial watertube boilers, biomass combustion systems, flextube boilers, engineered modular systems and heat recovery steam generators. Poznanczyk has been with Superior (formerly English Boiler) for more than 10 years.
Fives opened a combustion research center in Europe to speed up the development of new technologies for the energy and oil-and-gas industries. The Fives European Combustion Centre in the province of Piacenza (northern Italy) will reduce the time to market of combustion systems that have improved energy performance, are more environmentally friendly and guarantee a high level of security, says the company.
Three technical seminars from the Industrial Heating Equipment Association will be held concurrently with Furnaces North America (FNA), a three-day trade show from the Metal Treating Institute. Hosted by the convention center in downtown Indianapolis, the seminars and tradeshow will be held October 8-10. According to the two organizations, being located in the same venue will allow attendees and manufacturers to expand their technical knowledge and spend time on the exhibit floor.
The Marsh Bellofram Group of Companies created BelGas FM (Flame Management) division. The new unit will serve the oil and gas industry and provide flame arrestors, tank venting accessories, burners and specialty fabrication services.
IHEA will host three concurrent seminars — focusing on safety standards for industrial heating equipment, industrial combustion technologies and induction heating— on September 19-20 at the Cincinnati Marriott RiverCenter in Covington, Ky.

Established in 1929 to meet the need for effective group action in promoting the interest of industrial furnace manufacturers, the organization has expanded and currently includes designers and manufacturers of all types of industrial heat processing equipment.
