Thermal fluid systems have been operating safely for many decades across a range of industries. However, it is impossible to eliminate all risk in these systems because the ingredients for fire (fuel, air and an ignition source) are all present by design.
Astec Industries Inc. is launching a rebranding initiative, which includes a new logo and website, to coincide with its business model. The organization’s former brands, including Heatec, will no longer operate as separate subsidiary companies and will all take on the Astec name.
Plastic can be used to manufacture products from packaging to aerospace. Manufacturers may use different methods to create and mold these products, but there will always be one constant — heat. If the heating solution is not efficient, productivity and quality will suffer, notes Clive Jones, managing director of thermal fluid specialist Global Heat Transfer.
Find mineral oils and synthetic thermal fluids, among others, using this comparison chart that shows key fluid properties such as flashpoint, pour point, bulk temperature and film temperature for nearly 150 different heat transfer fluids.

In Process Heating's annual Equipment Overview on Heat Transfer Fluids, we have compiled all the data you need to choose a fluid that can take the heat - and move it to wherever you need it to go.
Most modern thermal fluid heaters at industrial plants are reliable, so unexplained heater shutdowns do not happen often. As a result, many plant operators do not know how to fix a shutdown problem — they have never encountered one in the past. But, eventually one does occur, and it is usually at the most inopportune time. This means the operator is under pressure to get the heater back in operation.
Although Heatec makes, sells, and services a range of heaters, liquid storage tanks, and related products, their goods are part of a total heating system solution. Heatec offers complete design services for heaters that are used at facilities such as oil and gas producers, chemical producers, food producers, food and pharmaceutical packaging, paper and film converting, roofing manufacturers, power plants, hotmix asphalt (HMA) plants, asphalt terminals, emulsion terminals, and concrete producers.
Fulton Thermal Corp., a Pulaski, N.Y.-based manufacturer of thermal fluid heat transfer products, is now offering installation services. These services provide customers with a front-end option to help mitigate the potential for future system inefficiencies, downtimes and failures.
