The B&W Thermal segment of Babcock & Wilcox was awarded a contract for more than $6 million. B&W Thermal will convert a Middle East chemical plant’s six boilers from oil to a lower-emission fuel. The scope of the project includes the design, manufacture and supply dual-fuel burners as well as commissioning and other technical services.
A power plant in Tampere, Finland, ordered a biomass-fired boiler to replace an existing boiler that reached the end of its technical lifetime. Valmet will deliver a boiler plant utilizing circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology by the end of 2022. The delivery extends from the boiler silos to the existing flue gas heat recovery system.
Valmet will supply a biomass-fired boiler and a flue-gas treatment plant to BS Energy's combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Braunschweig, Germany. The biomass-fired CHP plant will produce approximately 20 MW of electricity starting in early 2022.
