The Hydraulic Institute launched a pump savings calculator to assist specifiers and end users in determining energy- and cost-efficient pump systems for process applications. Offered as a no-cost downloadable tool, it factors the impacts of potential energy savings, based on the HI Energy Rating, alongside other variables like initial cost, installation and maintenance.
An incentive program for efficient pumps is the first to earn the HI Energy Rating Label from the Hydraulic Institute. Utility company Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) developed the program to serve its clients in the West.
The Canadian Institute for Energy Training, in collaboration with the Hydraulic Institute, will host a pump systems optimization course May 23 at the Ramada Plaza in Toronto.
Guess who’s turning 100? The Hydraulic Institute (HI) will celebrate its centennial in 2017, and — as part of an initiative to position it for the next 100 years of service to the pump industry — redesigned its logo.
Two facilities — Xylem Seneca Falls Research and Development Lab in Seneca Falls, N.Y., and Xylem Morton Grove Research and Development Lab in Morton Grove, Ill. — earned approval through the program.
Two programs to assess the credentials of individuals who perform pump systems assessments will help ensure those that are performing evaluations are effective.
