In our April 2022 edition of Process Heating, read our cover story on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in natural-draft heaters along with other features on thermal solutions and IIoT, taming infrared energy for process heating applications, an overview of industrial boilers and much more!
Infrared can deliver precise, even heating for sensitive substrates. Using infrared heating rather than a fuel-fired system can lower a facility’s carbon footprint and reduce the need for fossil fuels.
Infrared process heating represent only a small portion of usable infrared energy available within the electromagnetic spectrum. Medium- and long-wave infrared heaters provide unique process benefits of their own.
Processors must meet their day-to-day demands while looking to the long term: Managing an analog world in the face of a digital future. For many, it is difficult to know where to start. A good place is their problems.
Use the 2022 edition of our industrial boilers selection tool to compare equipment makers and find those with experience with your industrial heating process.

Used for generating steam for power, processing or space heating, or for producing hot water to heat products or a hot water supply, a boiler delivers steam or hot fluid to the end use point at the desired pressure and temperature.
A total of 37 large heat exchangers were ordered for a petrochemical project in Eastern Europe. Stockholm, Sweden-based Tranter will supply four jumbo-sized shell-and-plate heat exchangers that will be used in close temperature approach heat recovery services.
A fastener manufacturer will use a drawer oven to flash cure paint on nuts. Flash curing — heating parts at a relatively low oven temperature until they are no longer tacky but not fully cured — allows for subsequent layers of paint applications to continue building thickness.
Piovan Group completed its acquisition of IPEG Inc., which owns Thermal Care, Conair, Pelletron and Republic Machine. A Delaware-based company, IPEG supplies industrial automation systems, engineered solutions and services for storage, conveying and processing of plastic and food. Conair manufactures a range of dryers, process heaters and chillers.
