In July, Aeroglide Corp., Raleigh, N.C., acquired Minneapolis-based Food Engineering Corp. Aeroglide manufactures thermal processing equipment, supplying industrial dryers, roasters, ovens and coolers.

FEC, which was established in 1965, was a dominant force in dryers for the cereal market and other industries requiring a superior sanitary design. The two companies have competed for years in selected market niches.

Aeroglide will relocate FEC's operations to the Research Triangle area of North Carolina and absorb the operations into Aeroglide's facility.
