Microfine wire is a key component in a number of electrical products.
California Fine Wire supplies microfine wires for RTDs.
Microfine wire as small as one-tenth the diameter of a human hair is a key component in a growing number of electrical products. RTD Inc., Cambridge, MN, uses microfine wire in its temperature sensors, but it frequently has trouble finding the right wires for its products. In its manufacture of microelectronic components, RTD was faced with the need for a special nickel wire for a heating element to monitor heated acid baths.
After encountering suppliers with inferior wires and expected delivery times of up to eight weeks, RTD called California Fine Wire Co. (CFW), Grover Beach, CA. Within five days, CFW, a manufacturer of specialty wire for a range of applications, delivered the special nickel wire.
