When used in conjunction with corrosion probes inserted into the firewall of boiler tubes, FireCET can directly monitor boiler tube degradation online. Corrosion monitoring assists in identifying periods of fireside attack so that boiler operations can be fine-tuned to minimize corrosion. The monitoring system is capable of detecting and measuring corrosion online at elevated temperatures; has sensors to reflect the heat transfer characteristics of boiler tubes; and uses the company's SmartCET instrumentation, enabling data output to its CETware Windows-NT software, DCS or process management systems via an intranet or Internet as required.
