GEA has acquired York, Pa.-based FlatPlate, a brazed plate heat exchanger manufacturer. GEA expects FlatePlate to bring additional competence to Louisville, Ky.-based GEA Ecoflex, which supplies gasketed and semi-welded plate heat exchangers as well as fully welded plate heat exchangers.
According to GEA management, the company's position will be considerably stronger in the brazed market following the acquisition. “With FlatPlate, we have acquired a profitable company with cutting-edge products. Furthermore, we are consolidating our market position in the USA, making our company an indispensable supplier for almost every industrial application where media have to be heated or cooled.”
Steven Wand, president of FlatPlate, remarked that the company has been successful in the last few years, and he is looking forward to the future development of FlatPlate with the support from the GEA group behind it.
