Cleaning Fluids

MultiTherm PSC cleaning fluid is designed to break down used thermal fluid and clean internal components such as piping. MultiTherm FF-1 flushing fluid is designed to dissolve sludge, carbon and general buildup in the system. Both fluids are compatible with MultiTherm heat transfer fluids as well as most others.

Heat Transfer System Cleaner

DuraClean Ultra is capable of cleaning sludge, coke and varnish from expansion tanks, reservoirs, processes and piping within a few hours. The heat transfer system cleaner has a light odor but maintains the aggressive cleaning action found with caustic solutions and chemical solvents. Engineered to clean quickly with minimal labor and downtime, users simply drain the existing fluid from the entire system or just the troublesome areas, circulate at 150oF (66oC) until the system is deposit-free, drain thoroughly and refill with fresh heat transfer fluid.

Heat Transfer Fluids

Therminol heat transfer fluids meet the requirements of most chemical processes. Each chemical process has unique operating parameters that can be used by a design or process engineer to select the heat transfer fluid that will result in the best total performance. Therminol 55 can be used when only moderate temperatures are needed. Therminol 59 is best when combination heating and cooling conditions are present. Therminol 66 liquid-phase heat transfer fluids, as well as Therminol VP-1 and Therminol VP-3 vapor-phase heat transfer fluids, are preferred when high operating temperatures are required.

PFPE Fluids

Galden and Fomblin perfluorinatedpolyethers (PFPE) fluids and H-Galden (HPFE) hydrofluoropolyether product lines have obtained the FM 6930 rating. Galden and H-Galden are fully synthetic products used as heat transfer fluids in the semiconductor, food, chemical processing and life science industries. Fomblin high-performance lubricants deliver clean, safe and non-flammable properties in contrast to silicone and hydrocarbon-based oils and greases.

System Cleaner Liquid Dissolves Sludge

Paratherm LC liquid restores thermal fluid system performance on the fly. Cleaning while the system operates, it dissolves and suspends sludge deposits that can reduce flow -- and thus heat transfer -- in larger continuously operated hot-oil systems. Compatible with mineral-oil-based fluids, it operates while the system does, eliminating the downtime and extra handling and disposal involved with flushing fluids or chemical cleaning agents.

Nontoxic Heat Transfer Fluid

Dynalene SF is thermally stable at temperatures up to 600oF (316oC). The fluid has demonstrated performance over a range of temperatures without compromising system reliability. Recommended temperature range is 32 to 600oF(0 to 316oC.

Heat Transfer Fluid with Corrosion Inhibitors

Oxygen and heat transfer fluid surface contact in a system’s expansion tank or elsewhere can cause metal corrosion and acidity. Xceltherm 500M inhibits the ability of oxygen to damage system components and the fluid, especially when materials of construction such as copper or brass are present. With an operating range of -80 to 500oF (-62 to 260oC), it can be used for heating or cooling. The operating temperature range allows a system designed for water to run at higher temperatures without pressure by switching to a hot oil product.

Corrosion-Resistant Fluid

Designed to protect brass, copper, steel, cast iron, aluminum and other metals used in cooling and heating systems, Jeffcool coolants and heat transfer fluids contain corrosion inhibitors that attach to metal surfaces to passivate them. The ethylene-glycol- and propylene-glycol-based fluids can be used for process cooling.

Ammonia Refrigeration Oils

Refrigeration oils meet the stringent demands of industrial ammonia compressors. This is accomplished by using base stocks from a patented two-stage hydro-treated refining process that removes impurities from the base stock along with unsaturated hydrocarbons. Additives include oxidation inhibitors, anti-corrosion protection, and pour-point depressants. The ammonia refrigeration oils are straight branched hydrocarbons, making a closed cell molecular structure, giving them high thermal and oxidative stability for extended drain intervals.

Propylene Glycol Fluid

Safe-T-Therm is an inhibited propylene glycol designed to protect metals such as brass, copper, solder, steel, and cast iron. The fluid’s formula also includes an orange dye for leak detection and an antifoam agent to minimize foaming during service. Using the propylene-glycol based fluid in place of brine solutions or uninhibited glycol/water solutions can lower maintenance costs and improves heat transfer efficiency.

Synthetic Heat Transfer Fluid

Thermaflo 660 is a high-performance synthetic heat transfer fluid designed for use in nonpressurized, indirect, liquid heat transfer systems. It offers exceptional thermal stability and resistance to oxidation in the temperature range of 32 to 653oF (0 to 345oC). It offers superior overall performance in the range of 150 to 653oF (65 to 345oC), where its kinematic viscosity is below 10 cSt and turbulent flow can generally be ensured. With a pour point of -33oF (-27oC), the fluid is readily pumpable (i.e., it exhibits a viscosity of less than 400 cSt) at 41oF (5oC), ensuring easy startup under almost any conditions.
