An original installation of a 12 hp high pressure Parker Boiler steam unit from 1953 ran smoothly for 50 years at Pittsburg, Kan.-based MCP Urethane, formerly Mission Clay Products.

Upgraded in 2003 with a Parker T4600 350°F (177°C) hot water system, the unit now is fitted with a Parker 450°F (232°C) expansion tank and air separator tank. According to MCP's Dave McFall, the new boiler operates as flawlessly as the original unit did for half a century.

Parker Boiler is located in Commerce, Calif.
