A web-based track-and-trace system launched by a heat exchanger manufacturer lets its customers exert more control over their businesses.

Track & Trace from Swep, headquartered in Landskrona, Sweden, links directly to the majority of the world's shipping companies. More than 90 percent of all freight forwarders currently have signed on to the program, with more expected to follow later this year.

A simple web-based interface enables customers to find out the status of shipments at the customer's convenience, including items such as transport status and delivery date.

"Our customers only need identify their company and the transaction, and then a click gives them access to detailed information about their shipment," says Carin Sörensen, Swep's logistics coordinator.

Swep manufactures compact brazed heat exchangers and related products and services.
