The 2009 NPE Expo, to be held June 22 through 26 at Chicago’s McCormick Place and produced by the Society of the Plastics Industry, will contain eight full-scale expositions and conferences, including four new events.

The regular scheduled events include the 26th NPE exposition, with 2,000 exhibiting companies; the Society of Plastics Engineers’ ANTEC 2009 technical conference, with more than 650 original, peer-reviewed presentations; SPI’s “The Business of Plastics” educational program; and the MoldMaking Expo conference and exposition.

The four new events are:
  • PET Strategies Plus conference on business strategy, issues and technologies involving PET packaging applications of PET (www.packstrat.com).
  • Time Compression conference and exposition focusing on technologies for rapid product design and development (www.timecompressionexpo.com).
  • Latin American Plastics conference, which will be conducted entirely in Spanish. It will focus on trends, opportunities, technologies, and ways to improve competitiveness in the Latin plastics markets (www.plastico.com/seminarios/npe09).
  • Coatings for Plastics conference, which is intended for professionals who specify and use coatings on plastics, as well as coatings manufacturers and raw material suppliers (www.coatingstech.org).
“There has never been anything like this multiplicity of conferences and expositions at a plastics event,” says Gene Sanders, SPI’s vice president of trade shows.
