Air Products has introduced three new defoamers for the coatings, graphic arts and adhesive markets. The Lehigh Valley, Pa., company engineered the defoamers to be free of alkylphenol ethoxylate while providing long-lasting foam control and defect-free surfaces. The defoamer line includes:
  • Surfynol DF-178, which provides strong defoaming and microfoam control and is particularly effective in spray applications.
  • Surfynol DF-220, a mineral oil-based product, which provides defoaming in architectural and high pigment-volume concentration paints and coatings. This 100 percent active product does not contain silica, silicones or APEs.
  • Surfynol DF-110C, a defoaming/de-air-entraining agent, which is nonionic and does not contain water or silicone. The material is intended for use in areas where foam prevention or elimination is necessary without causing film problems.
