An SCR system with a standard burner can provides emission reductions as low as 2.5 ppm NOX, depending on the application. It also can result in substantial energy reductions and while capable of handling most plant load swings with reliable boiler performance.
One portable, low-temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is capable of reducing NOXemissions:
By more than 90 percent, to less than 5 ppm for gas-fired boiler applications.
As low as 2.5 ppm NOX for gas turbine applications.
By more than 99 percent for nitric acid applications.
The SCR system is available as an add-on for existing and new package watertube boilers, firetube boilers, gas turbines, steam generators, heaters, furnaces and nitric acid plants. It can be installed vertically or horizontally. It has been installed in boiler applications ranging from 800 hp to 200,000 pph and on gas turbines starting at a size of 0.5 MW.
