The commercial rights to a fusion device that produces heat to be converted to electricity have been acquired by Houston-based Quantum Bit Induction Technology Inc. However, the fusion power device still requires modifications to be successful.
The device is small and uses little fuel while producing substantial amounts
of energy in the process, say the developers. The energy could be used to power
industrial equipment, homes, buildings, vehicles or anything else that needs
energy. Unlike chemical combustion such as coal or gasoline, the fusion device does
not produce exhaust products. Quantum says it hopes to introduce a working
product later this year.
