A supplier of oxy-fuel combustion technology has signed a contract to provide an integrated solution to a South Korean glassmaker.
A supplier of oxy-fuel combustion technology has signed a contract to
provide an integrated solution to Techpack Solutions in Seoul, South Korea, to
reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency and productivity in container
and tableware glass production.
Under the contract, Air Products, Allentown, Pa., will
supply its Cleanfire HRi oxy-fuel burners and flow control skid to the plant.
The agreement also includes installation of the Prism vacuum swing adsorption
(VSA) unit for on-site oxygen to power the oxy-fuel burners for melting glass. The
integrated solution encompasses gases, oxy-fuel burners and technology, custom
control system, technical and design expertise, commissioning service, safety
and site training, maintenance contracts and project management.
Air Products has installed more than 1,500 Cleanfire
burners around the world, according to the company. The oxy-fuel technology provides
benefits such as reduced nitrogen oxide emissions, increased productivity, and energy
savings and improvement in efficiency and glass quality.
