Chromalox was awarded the ASME Section VII Div. 1 U stamp for the fabrication of immersion and circulation heaters at its Soissons, France, facility. The facility also received ASME R stamp certification for the repair or alteration of boilers, pressure vessels and other pressure-retaining items.
The certifications ensure that the Pittsburgh-based maker of heating equipment meets a schedule of requirements assigned by ASME.
“These key certifications demonstrate Chromalox’s attention to stringent quality standards and ensures the company’s heaters meet uniform code requirements around the world,” says Thierry Desseignes, managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI).
In addition to immersion and circulation heaters, the Soissons facility manufactures sheathed elements, process heaters, control panels, air duct heaters and cable accessories. The ASME Code establishes rules that govern the design, fabrication and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels during construction.
