A provider of fluoropolymer linings and coatings headquartered in Emmaus, Pa., has been awarded a $5,000 matching grant by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania to work with Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., to develop an adhesive primer. The primer developed by the university and Electro Chemical will be used to line corrosive fluid storage containers that will experience extreme temperature and pressure conditions.

During the development process, Electro Chemical will work with a team from Lehigh University’s Materials Science Department to identify and evaluate primers with high thermal stability that meet required criteria of the new applications. The design criteria call for higher temperature ranges and pressure conditions than are currently available.
