PowerMod opens in less than 700 ns, providing load protection in medium- to high-voltage DC power distribution systems (greater than 3 kV) in the event of a fault. Featuring greater than 99.7 percent switching efficiency, the solid-state medium-voltage DC (MVDC) circuit breaker modules also can switch power around a fault for high-uptime applications such as maintaining power levels in a micro-grid. Capable of supporting a range of alternative sources and storage systems, the modules operate fully on or fully off.
