Line of drying systems includes Jetzone fluidized bed dryer/puffer/toaster, fluidized bed cooler, impingement cooler, forced convection cooler and belt coolers. Jet-tubes create a large chamber between the product and air return plenum to settle out fines from the recirculated airstream, preventing product loss. High velocity air passing through long tubes creates a bed of air, which suspends and tumbles the product as the air reflects from a solid, non-perforated conveyor. This chamber reduces returning air velocity, preventing interference with the main fluidizing airstream.
The open space between the tubes forms a chamber to settle out smaller pieces and return process air for recirculation without affecting the fluidizing air jets. During fluidization, each particle is surrounded and separated from adjacent particles by the treatment air. Jet-tubes project an undispersed column of air into the product bed, resulting in optimum fluidization and highest heat transfer. The process is not conveyor-loading-sensitive because the treatment air is evenly dispersed before contacting the product.
