Induction Heating System Selected for Wire Heating ApplicationA 50 kW/10 kHz induction heating system designed by Ambrell, Scottsville, N.Y., will play an essential role in a casting application. The company will use the Eckoheat system to melt approximately 50 lb (23 kg) of heavy metals in a graphite furnace.

The induction coil will be placed near to the crucible for this application. According to Ambrell, minimal insulation will maximize field strength for the melt. The maximum melting temperature for this application is 2912°F (1600°C).

For companies that need complete systems, Ambrell has partnered with Induction Technology Corp. (ITC), Adelanto, Calif., to deliver complete melting systems.
