A custom conveyor oven used to cure coated electrodes as part of a large processing line is on its way to a domestic equipment integrator.
The conveyor oven, designed by Lewco Inc., Sandusky, Ohio, has a stainless steel interior, according to applications engineer Jason Bowers. Insulated vestibules with adjustable silhouette openings are used on each end of the heated zone to meet the temperature uniformity requirement of ±10°F. Operators can adjust the speed of each conveyor separately to yield the proper dwell times in the oven.
The oven controls include a Eurotherm Nanodac and slave unit to manage the six thermocouples that monitor the temperature uniformity inside the oven.
