Shell Offshore Inc. awarded a contract to Yokogawa Corp. of America, Sugar Land, Texas, to deliver process control/process safety equipment and associated software for Shell’s Appomattox development. The project is located in the Mississippi Canyon in the deep water Gulf of Mexico. Yokogawa’s Centum VP DCS will be used for managing topsides process control and subsea sequence of operations, and the ProSafe-RS Logic Solver will be used to ensure process safety.
ABB’s Measurement & Analytics business released a 12-page guide on the ProcessMaster. The electromagnetic flowmeter serves demanding applications in the oil-and-gas industry with slurries, fluid mixtures, injection fluids and wastewater. ProcessMaster magmeters operate under harsh conditions involving heat, moisture, vibration, and explosive and corrosive atmospheres, says ABB.
Duncan Cooper, Grundfos Pumps Corp.’s regional managing director and group senior vice president for the Americas, will leave the company during the summer of 2016. Since his appointment in 2013, Cooper has proved instrumental in improving company performance in the Americas region, most significantly in the area of financial stability.
