Martin Naughton stepped down as president and from the executive board of Glen Dimplex Group, but he remains on as chairman of shareholder supervisory board. On the executive board, Martin McCourt joins as non-executive chairman, and Neil Naughton serves as deputy chairman. Gas Technology Institute (GTI), Des Plaines, Ill., is collaborating with experts from industry and government on a hydraulic fracturing test site (HFTS). The effort targets horizontal shale wells to reduce or minimize potential environmental impacts, demonstrate safe and reliable operations, and improve the efficiency of hydraulic fracturing. Paharpur Cooling Towers Ltd. has purchased the Dry Cooling business of Charlotte-based SPX Corp. for approximately $48 million. The Dry Cooling business, which is headquartered in Brussels with facilities in China and the United States, accounts for approximately 10 percent of the revenues of SPX’s Power Segment. This business includes SPX’s ownership interest in its joint venture with Shanghai Electric. The deal, however, did not include SPX’s South African subsidiary, DBT Technologies (Pty) Ltd.
