A 500°F (260°C) electric walk-in batch oven, No. 993 is used for curing elastomeric and thermoplastic parts at the customer’s facility. Workspace of this unit measures 48 x 96 x 72”. Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements provide 45 kW heat input for the oven, and a 6000-cfm, 5-hp recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow across the workload. The walk-in oven has 4” insulated walls throughout, aluminized steel exterior and interior, 2” insulated floor with built-in truck wheel guide tracks, and exhaust hood over the oven doors equipped with an 18” diameter tubeaxial fan driven by a 0.75-hp motor. An integral door switches to start the hood fan when the doors are opened and shuts down the fan when the doors are closed. It provides a 325-cfm powered forced exhauster, digital-indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, recirculating airflow safety switch, 10” diameter circular chart recorder and a 30-hour oven shutdown timer.
