The 2016 Arne Asplund Mechanical Pulping Award was granted toTomas Björkqvist, Mikael Lucander and Olli Tuovinen. The award is given out every two years by Arne Asplund Mechanical Pulping Award Foundation to promote the development of new technology for the manufacture of high-yield pulp. The Arne Asplund Mechanical Pulping Award Foundation was established in 1985 thanks to a donation from Valmet to support its establishment. The foundation name was chosen to honor Dr. Asplund’s contribution to the pulp-and-paper industry.
