APTech Group, a global manufacturer of blended solid-concentrate water additive products for treating cooling towers, boilers and closed-loop systems, appointed Matt Horine to managing director. Horine will work closely with management to strengthen internal and external relationships with partners and continue to drive momentum of APTech product offerings.
In other company news, APTech Group celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2017. The company’s products are used in industrial, commercial and institutional systems to maintain equipment efficiency and inhibit bio-hazards. With facilities in the Czech Republic and Brazil as well as Blue Ash, Ohio, the company expanded to include an in-house equipment line in 2016.
LaMarr Barnes was named CEO of U.S. Water Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allete Inc. Barnes replaces former CEO Allan Bly, who resigned after a 20-year career with the company. Barnes has more than 25 years of experience in industrial water treatment and technology management. He joined the St. Michael, Minn.-based company in 2010.
A manufacturer of thermoplastic fluid flow technology, Asahi/America Inc. promoted 27-year Asahi veteran Rodney Van to industrial business development manager for the Eastern and Central regions. Van will lead Asahi/America’s sales efforts of industrial single- and double-wall piping systems for chemical service. Van most recently had served as Asahi’s district sales manager in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Cincinnati-based Enerfab Inc. expanded its service offering to include heat transfer equipment services formerly provided by American Power Services (APS). In addition, the company has further expanded its core service to include testing, on-site repair, design and fabrication of tubular heat exchangers of all types, sizes, pressures, temperatures and material alloys.
Castolin Eutectic Group, a division of the Messer Eutectic Castolin GmbH Holding, Bad Soden, Germany, acquired Furnace Mineral Products (FMP) Inc. on February 1. A privately owned corporation based in Toronto, Canada, FMP specializes in the research, development, manufacture and field application of inorganic-hybrid coatings for power generation and other industries where wear or corrosion protection is required.
Valmet entered into a strategic value-added reseller (VAR) agreement for power and process industry automation with Consulta Enterprises in India. The agreement covers India, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Valmet will supply its automation solutions and Consulta will provide sales engineering to end users and field services.
Gilman Precision, a manufacturer of customized linear and rotary motion systems based in Grafton, Wis., named Donald Hunkel as application engineer.
