Derrick Goddard was named president of Viking Pump Inc., Cedar Falls, Iowa. Goddard has served as interim president since July 2016 in conjunction with his role as general manager of Viking Pump Canada.


Thermoplastic fluid-handling products maker Asahi/America Inc., St. Lawrence, Mass., named John Romano vice president of sales and marketing. He will oversee sales management, strategic planning, new product launches, marketing campaigns, e-commerce, and business-to-business sales.

Also at Asahi/America, Alex Gambino was promoted to business development manager for the company’s industrial piping lines in the western region and Mexico. Gambino has been with Asahi/America since 2007, previously serving most recently as engineering manager.

One2Born, the manufacturer of a biodegradable container, or hatchholder, that allows hatcheries to safely package and transport 18-day-old fertilized eggs to their eventual living environment, improved its container with thermal imaging. The DX501 thermal scanner from Exergen Corp., Watertown, Mass., is used to ensure that fertilized chick eggs can hatch safely and naturally in their houses.


Metso has signed a distribution agreement for its valve products with Process Control Equipment (PCE) to cover the United Kingdom,        Benelux and Spain. Under the non-exclusive agreement, PCE will add to its current portfolio of Metso's Neles and Jamesbury product families for all process industries in all countries. PCE has been distributing Metso's Jamesbury valves in the UK since 2012.


Stuttgart-based Coperion GmbH supplied Finnish technology company IonPhasE Oy with a complete system for processing antistatic polymers, including raw material handling and drying as well as material handling and feeding equipment. IonPhasE Oy manufactures static-dissipative polymer additives — commonly known as permanent anti-static additives — that control static electricity in plastics.


Valmet will supply an Advantage DCT machine, including the ViscoNip press and an extensive automation package, to Turkish tissue producer Hayat Kimya. The company has decided to invest in a second machine at their mill in Yelabuga in Tartaristan, Russia, to meet the increasing demand for their high quality tissue products.  The new line will add 70,000 tons of tissue to Hayat Kimya's current production of facial, toilet and towel tissue.
