Valmet will supply a waste-fired boiler to Shanying Huazhong Paper's paper mill in Jingzhou, Hubei province, China. The waste-to-energy plant will supply electricity for the paper mill and allow it to utilize all of its mill waste in energy production.
The boiler will use circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology. The greenfield plant will utilize mill waste (paper rejects, pulp rejects and pulp sludge) as its fuel, totaling up to 260,000 tons of waste annually. According to Valmet, the equipment will enable excellent efficiency through high steam parameters even when combusting demanding waste fuels. Installation is scheduled to begin in June 2018, with heat and power production anticipated to start in early 2019.
