Charles Sears, the president of Dri-Air Industries Inc., East Windsor, Conn., passed away on August 5 after a recent battle with cancer.
Sears founded Dri-Air Industries in 1985 to provide drying systems for the plastics industry. He was a noted authority on the science of drying technology and applications and held several patents.
Jason Sears, who has been with the company 27 years, is managing the company operations.

Seattle based Seeq Corp., a provider of manufacturing and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) analytics software, secured $23 million in funding to expand its development, sales and marketing resources. The funding was led by the Altira Group with participation by Chevron Technology Ventures, next47, the Siemens-backed global venture firm, Second Avenue Partners and other existing investors.
