An incentive program for efficient pumps is the first to earn the HI Energy Rating Label from the Hydraulic Institute. Utility company Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) developed the program to serve its clients in the West.

In 2020, as funding for energy-efficiency programs shifts from lighting to pumping system incentives, the role and value of the ER database as a qualified product list and a resource for utilities will grow, says HI.
