Superior Boiler opened its third manufacturing facility in Hutchinson, Kan. The 75,000 ft2 building, dubbed “Plant 3,” was renovated to house Superior’s watertube division, which the company relocated from Richmond, Va. Plant 3 is located on 18 acres, allowing for further expansion as needed.

With high ceilings to optimize equipment operations, the facility contains several cranes, a paint booth with a collection and filtration system.  For space heating and employee comfort during the colder months, Superior installed radiant floor heating powered by a Superior hot water boiler.

According to the company, the first watertube boilers manufactured at Plant 3 will be completed by the end of September. Superior also is introducing its newest boiler model, Cheyenne, at the grand opening event for its new plant. The hot water condensing boiler is designed for applications in large hospitals, schools, universities and office buildings.
